Music

In worship, music plays an important part in expressing faith, inspiring us, lifting us toward common ideals, and soothing us in times of sadness or uncertainty.

Adult choir

Adult choir sings a variety of music from a wide range of spiritual genres. We are a relaxed and friendly group, rehearsing just once a week, directly after the Sunday service. If you’re a seasonal visitor we welcome your participation when you are here. No prior choir or singing experience is required! Email the music director for more information.

Want to share your music?

Throughout the year we integrate special music into worship services. If you are interested in sharing your music with the congregation, email the music director. We welcome any kind of music: voice, instrumental, even a recording if performing is not possible. We will work with you!

Hymns in worship

We believe music is vital for a vibrant church service. We are blessed to have a talented music director who often introduces new hymns or songs, and who can draw beautiful music from a collection of modest voices. As a congregation, we have sung rounds, songs with gestures, songs in Spanish, Hebrew, and African languages, benedictions from medieval communities, and many other glorious ways of worshipping God.

Over the years, Christmas and Easter services have often included longer musical pieces under her direction. Music enhances worship and is a way of expressing worship.
